The B-Gallery opens its doors for young contemporary creation. This exhibition space of the City of Brussels in the Galerie Bortier, better known for its bookshops, treated herself with a nice facelift and with it put herself clearly on the map. She found herself a new name, B-Gallery, and emerged with a new logo in splendid colours completely in the spirit of what she set out to be from the very beginning: to give a real launching platform for young contemporary artists, be it local or international.

CONTEMPORARY ART PLATFORM
An exhibition space dedicated to young contemporary artists, each year the B-Gallery presents a series of solo exhibitions by artists selected by a professional jury. This is a unique opportunity for these artists, who have less than ten years' career behind them, to make themselves known to the public in an exhibition hall, but also thanks to the publication that the City of Brussels publishes for the occasion. Each solo exhibition lasts three weeks, and the 2011 selection offers visitors a palette of works ranging from photography and sculpture to video and various montages. The winners of the call for entries launched last autumn are : Pauline Cornu, Marco Di Carlo, Sri Unggul Ida Mulyani, Frédéric Rolland, Thomas Bernardet, Maxim, Frank & Sven Laurent and Stéphanie Roland.

Espace d’exposition dédié à la jeune création contemporaine, la B-Gallery présente chaque année une série d’expositions individuelles d’artistes sélectionnés par un jury professionnel. Il s’agit d’une occasion unique, pour ces créateurs qui ont moins de dix années de carrière, de se faire connaître du public dans une salle d’exposition, mais également grâce à la publication que la Ville de Bruxelles édite pour l’occasion. La durée de chaque exposition personnelle est de trois semaines et la sélection de 2011 offre aux visiteurs une palette d’œuvres allant de la photogra- phie à la sculpture en passant par la vidéo et des montages divers. Les lauréats de l’appel lancé à l’automne dernier sont : Pauline Cornu, Marco Di Carlo, Sri Unggul Ida Mulyani, Frédéric Rolland, Thomas Bernardet, Maxim, Frank & Sven Laurent, ainsi que Stéphanie Roland.
